Birds are the most common group of animals in nature. The epidemiological significance of birds as a source of infection is diverse. Sinanthropus and wild birds are a source of infection for many diseases – salmonellosis, brucellosis, listeriosis, leptospirosis, toxoplasmosis, ornithosis. Domestic and wild birds are widespread in Azerbaijan. Local and migratory birds are widely distributed in the Kyzil Agac Nature Reserve located in the south of Azerbaijan, Sarı-Su lake in Sabirabad district, Ag lake in Aghjabadi district, Gum island located in the Baku archipelago. The arrival of migratory birds from abroad can also cause a number of exotic infections.
